Rupert B. Parkinson, ceramic artist and painter, was born into an acclaimed family of artists in the Coventry/Warwickshire area, he studied Fine Art in Leamington under Barry Burman.
Rupert has developed a unique style creating hand-built coiled pots that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing, with glazes  reflecting his artist's palette. 
Inspiration came from the tactile work of Bob Hollis and Ray Finch, with the addition of Rupert's lifelong affinity with natural forms, fostered by his appreciation of the natural world and deeply rooted in his rural upbringing. Rupert aims to show the sensual nature of form with bowls that beg to be handled and in so doing reflect his passions and creative drives in the ceramic form. Rupert imbibes each piece with the deeply personal relationship between the medium and the artist.
Experimenting mainly with glazes that react with one another and complement the form, rather than obscure it, his creations attract the eye and give a sense of intimacy. These unique bowls are both modern and timeless, capturing a creativity that is sophisticated in technique whilst remaining elemental in form.
